  • Necks: Jackson USA soloist vs. ESP m-I, mirage, etc

    Questions:

    1) Generally speaking, do ESP mirage/m-I/m-II/etc. necks from the mid to late 80’s feel “thicker” than Jackson soloist necks?

    2) what neck profiles do these 2 necks have? Trying the learn about the differences between the two of them.

    Thanks!

My CS SL1 is totally different animal than my two ESP's which both have the thin U profile. Other ESP is from late 80's and other is 09
standard series M-II. Thin, almost gibson style 60's slim taper but thinner. R2 nut. The necks are almost identical.

My Jackson has the standard soloist neck, which is really wide and really flat. R3 nut size.

I also have 1986 Kramer Stagemaster Deluxe which is really similar to ESP Mirage Custom. ESP made Kramers at the time so I guess the neck is
very similar. Which is more of a gibson style. 60'slim taper. Jackson/Charvel has always been known for their flat and wide necks.
