  • KV2 pickups

Hey just joined JCF and this is my first post...

I'm about to order a 2019 KV2 and see from the specs that it has a Seymour Duncan JB in both positions. I'm familiar with the JB in the bridge, but not in the neck.

Anybody have any experience? I'm used to the Jazz in the neck for awesome clean tones and I'm afraid a JB will be too hot there.

    Thanks!

Should be a TB4 in the bridge and SH2N in the neck on a stock KV2. Which spec sheet are you looking at? Where are you ordering it from? I heard from a reliable source that all USA models were back-ordered up to a year...

It's on the official Jackson site itself, on the KV2 page: https://www.jacksonguitars.com/gear/...kv2/2803040803

      I can only assume that's a typo.

However, in the event it's NOT a typo, I've had experience with a JB in the neck, paired with a DiMarzio X2N-B in the bridge: https://www.jcfonline.com/forum/equi...ert-sun-yellow

The JB, which was designed as a juiced-up bridge pickup 45 years ago, is very hot in the neck. Almost too hot. Fortunately the X2N-B was an even hotter pickup for the bridge to balance everything out. On the plus side, the JB is known for its "singing" quality for leads in the bridge, and that "singing" quality also does well in the neck.

I thought so, too, but here's the current spec sheet from Jackson:

Yeah, the wait time's a bitch, but I have my KE2 to tide me over.

The blue ghost flame is sweet, but my KE2 is agent orange and my WR1 is bolted steel, so my new KV2 must be in black
