  • Late 80's JE-1000, what to expect?

I have what appears to be a nice late 80's strat inbound. The seller didn't have much info but I had him take some pictures and it looks like a JE-1000. I had a JE-1200 equipped soloist and didn't really notice much of a difference either way from my other guitars. It didn't stand out and it didn't sound like shit.
I am not familiar with the JE-1000 but from a quick search of the schematic it looks to be a boost where you can set the level using dip switches? Am I right?
    Anyone have/use this?
    Here is a picture.

The JE-1000 can be really cool.. The first ones were made at E.Airport Dr. Ontario at the Jackson shop.

you should not compare JE-1000 to the JE-1200 mid boost which most people have.

The JE-1000 has an on/off mini-toggle. It adds sustain to lead guitar.

Works well but can be noisy because of the boost. Its awesome for noodling

The adjustments on the circuit didn't really do much on the versions i've had. Later the JE-1000 was manufactured with no adjustments on the circuit board.

@catharpin is that a 1988 USA Jackson in the above photo?
