  • Need to identify

I am trying to ident a bass for sale and see if it is worth buying or not. Please shed some light for me if you can.
It looks a lot the rest or Charvel 4 string basses of course. It has a bolt on neck. The neck plate is blank. The serial is at the bottom of the fretboard, which is "C00xxxx". It has active PJ pups and they have the white stamp on them. There is a master Volume, Blend, Bass and Treb pots and no selector.
    Thank you in advance.

A bolt on with a serial stamped into the fretboard?

That is correct sir. I have even tried goggling Charvel bass and hoped I'd see one and try to identify it that way. I scrolled and scrolled, but I didn't see a single one that was bolt on, serial in the fretboard and had that pickup and control configuration.

I've seen USA bolt ons from the 90s, maybe early 2000s, with stamps at the ends of the fretboards, but I can't seem to recall or find any specifics.

pictures would go a long way towards identification

I don't have a pic. I just got a quick look at it while I was at the guys house trading my acoustic amp for his guitar. He just happened to mention the bass and I asked him to bring it out. I took mental notes and a pic of the serial. I thought I'd be able to identify it from that, I was way off there. But I think the thing that sets it apart is the master volume, master tone, and active bass and treble controls. I haven't been able to find any with those controls online. I have no idea what it is worth and so am hesitant to make an offer on it.

Any ideas guys? An educated guess that I could run with would be a helpful start.
Remember that it has a bolt on w/ serial in the fretboard, active PJ pups w/ white stamp and has master Volume, Blend, Bass and Treb pots.
            Thank you

since no one's chimed in with an answer, you might try referencing against some of bass models listed here: https://mechas64castles.net/Charvel2.html I tried to do so initially, but I'm missing some info.

              - Is there a label with the country of origin somewhere on the bass?
              - What headstock shape? Standard pointy, or something else?
              - Logo? Toothpaste logo, block logo, or something else?
              - Number of frets?
              - Color

There are some pics on the 1st page.
Member amimbari has a post that has 4
                Models in the pic.
They are listed by Model Position in the pic.
The LAST page, LAST post, even though there is
                NO serial Number info,
member amimbari has a few tips on how to tell
                Model 1, Model 2, Model 3, and Model 4.

I only scanned quickly through that thread.
These are Pointed Headstocks, different pup
layout, and Maple or Ebony or
                [ Rosewood ? ] fretboard.

As stated above, more info would be great.
pic, pup layout, fretboard material, maybe color,
                how many knobs, switches.
I don't have any idea. Just trying to give a tiny bit of info I came across.

I know it's NOT Definitive, but it's Something to
                look at.
Good Luck, and let us know what happens.

those are all model series basses from the 80s and would have cast neck plates with the serial number of them. I'm thinking with the blank neck plate and heel stamp, this one must be a late '90s or early '00s bass. unfortunately, charvel catalogs or other infos from that era are scant.

First, let me say thanks to you all for your posts!
Second, I have determined from the serial number that it is one of the imports in the area where they kept little to no info. So, those links weren't helpful sadly. But thanks for the effort.
Third, it is a 24 fret model with the pointy head and there are no other markings at all anywhere except for the serial in the fretboard and the name on the headstock.
Forth, that pink one looks close in body shape, but isn't it. That one has 3 pots and a 3-way. Mine has 4 pots and no selector. Also, mine has stamps on the pups, is a bolt-on and that looks like a neck-thru and finally, mine has a line in the length of the body (thumb rail).
Fifth, I got the guy to send me pictures. But it would allow me to attach them. I will try again.
                          Thanks again
