  • NGD: 1991 Jackson Arched-Top Soloist Custom - Japanese domestic model

The highest spec Jackson/Charvel ever to come out of Chushin Gakki, aside from the 1991 Professional Archtop Limited?
Sounds as good as it looks.
    More pics to come.

    Specs
    Body: flame maple/mahogany
Neck: mahogany set-neck (smooth heel, just like a 750XL)
    Scale: 25.5"
    Fingerboard: ebony, conical 12"-16" radius
Pickups: J-80/J-50N (sound incredible in this guitar)
    Finish: vintage tobacco burst
    Original list price: 195,000 yen

    Still looking for:

    Charvel 750XL (transparent finish)
    c. 1990-1991 Jackson Professional Soloist Archtop
    c. 1992 Jackson Professional Soloist ATN
    Jackson Professional Archtop Limited 1991

    The hunt continues...

Good score there. So is the scale lenght on it 25.5? Because the archtop pro and the limited has 24.75. Also 750 xl has 24.75

Certainly is! Confirmed in the catalogue and by my fingers.

Beautiful! Interesting that it is 25.5" instead of 24.75" like the Charvel 750XL.

How would you compare the J80 to the J50BC that came in standard Soloists back then?

Honestly I've never had a J50BC as far as I'm aware. All of the soloists I've owned came with either the same pickup combo as this for HH, or 2x J100 and a J80 for the HSS ones (and then you've got my Soloist Jr which has different pickups again). I've only owned Japanese market models - I think the ones for export came with slightly different pickups.

Would be great to compare - very underrated pickups in my opinion.
