  • 90's MIJ King V. What model is this?

    Hey everyone,

Came across an old model I never noticed before, can't find it in any catalogs either. What is this thing?

Saw it on some guitar Wiki: https://guitarinside.com/Grover_Jackson_King_V_standard

I'm aware of the old King V Std, but never saw this model. Link says bolt-on, but I found pics of another from an expired Japanese listing, and it's neck through:

The Grover Jackson line (which would later turn into Jackson Stars) would be for the Japanese market only. Here's the 1993 Japanese catalog linked from Jackson's site. https://assets.ctfassets.net/4jcppge...an-catalog.pdf

The U.S. market King V standard had 22 frets with dot inlay, one volume control with toggle switch, and a JT580 trem. https://assets.ctfassets.net/4jcppge...93-catalog.pdf
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Thank you! I was ignorant over the old Grover Jackson/Jackson Stars models. I always thought all of the logos were like this:

You're welcome. I remember seeing a pic of Megadeth in a Guitar World magazine where Marty had a Firebird that had the small Grover Jackson logo.

Yeah, I've coveted that old Firebird of Marty's for years.

Difference is just the name. "Grover Jackson" was renamed to "Jackson Stars".
