  • Opinions please.

Hey everyone, been a long time since I've been on here. But, i need to get some input from everyone. I just bought a JS32DKA in neon orange, I just love the color. Anyway, the website states that the body is poplar, and even though the stock Jackson pickup sounds good, I would like to get opinions on what else would work in a poplar body.

    Thanks ahead of time.

        I'm old school...DiMarzio Tone Zone.
Though, I'm not informed much about the wood/pickup connection.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

So other than the wood issue, here is what I have. For a short period of time, I had an RRX24 in my hands (long story, but loved the guitar). It has the basswood body, and Seymour Duncan Blackouts, and it is a beast. I guess what I'm trying to figure out, is how to get that sound out of a poplar JS with a passive pickup. Not sure how the Nazgul, Pegasus, or the Black Winter would compare. I know that the sound bytes sound great, and I am leaning more towards the Nazgul. I'm just curious on how it would sound given the wood differences.
