  • Rhoads STD Professional JT580 question

So, over the weekend I was just browsing the GC used page and a Jackson Rhoads STD Professional showed up in great condition with a hardshell case for UNDER $250!!

So of course it is on it's way and should arrive in a couple days for under $300 shipped. Question I have is this, I know most folks always say to scrap the JT580 and put in a better trem and normally I agree...…..but I NEVER use the trem so I was just going to block it anyway. Do I really need to swap the 580 if I'm using it as a fixed bridge?
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Unless it's giving you issues in some way, I can't think of a single reason to change it.

I've avoided trems for years, but after finally getting one on an SL2H I find they're more comfy under my playing hand than my beloved TOMs.

The JT580 is fine. Use it as is, unless there's some problem with it, and then you can just block it.
