  • Jackson DK3 Partial re-fret

Hi everyone from a new member before I forget. I have a Japanese DK3 which I purchased back in 2001 which needs a partial refret. Has anyone got any information regarding the fret size and any links if possible where I could purchase from online that will be a great help. Prefer to use stainless steel if possible although I do realise this can be a lot more difficult if not done correctly.
    Thanks all,
    Steve.

I think you would be better off getting a fret size that matches your remaining frets. You wouldn't want new frets that are full height and old frets that aren't. And if you don't do a full re-fret, won't the old frets wear out a little faster than the new SS frets?

Just a thought. I'm not sure of the original fret size. Good luck!

Thank for the reply DonP. I'm going to take the 24th fret out and take measurements from this ie crown width, fret height and tang width etc and go from there. Probably a full re-fret is the best option. Just need to find a good supplier. Thanks for your help.
