  • Question about a Jackson Guitar

Hello all. I just found this site today, and it seems like a great place with much info and friendly folks.

I know it's probably been discussed in other threads, and I really did try to find the answer myself, searching thru previous threads, but I just can't find the answer. Truthfully, I may have read the answer, and just not understood what I was reading ... I am admittedly a novice here.

That said, I'm looking at a used Jackson Rhoads V of some kind, which is my problem, I don't know what kind. Obviously this is important, as it helps dictate what I should pay for the guitar.
    The MPN is 2913000803.
The # stamped on the back plate is NHJ1006539.
    It is a silver/gray/gunmetal color.
It has 2 knobs and 1 toggle.

If I read thru older threads right, this is a 2006 JS30RR Rhoads, made in India, using Indian Cedar.
It is listed as a RR3, which would make it Alderwood made in Japan.

Help me please, I'm drowning over here.

    Thanks,
    Wes

    its Indian.
People say things like RR3 because they are stupid.

Okay, so it's not an RR3.
So it's an entry level JS30RR from India? Is that a bad thing? I don't know, just asking.
      Any idea what year?
      Thanks.

It's a 2010. Yes, the JS is entry level and should be $100-200 used in most instances.
If you're looking for an entry level guitar, try it out. You may be pleasantly surprised or maybe not.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Before you buy an old RR3 try out one of the new X series Rhoads guitars. You should be able to find a neckthru Rhoads for about the same price as an RR3. Personally, having owned an RR3 and an RR5 I much prefer my RR24XT which cost much less than either of those.
