  • Jackson Performer RR V ?

I have the aforementioned guitar, and have 2 options with it... Either replace the neck, or have it refretted. The neck itself is fantastic, which is why I'm considering a refret, the frets on this thing are so tiny, and I hear that these Korean models from the mid 90's are real hit and miss, but if I did opt for a new neck would a Warmoth neck fit? I've heard conflicting things elsewhere, ranging from the Warmoth heel is too big, to the Jackson scale length on these performers aren't the required 25 1/2 for a Warmoth neck, etc.

Quite frankly, if you like the neck and its not broken, keep it.
You don't buy a new engine just because you need an oil change.

Its just routine maintenance, not an overhaul.

I'm with pianoguyy. A new neck is just overkill, especially when you love it. I'd go with a refret myself. I haven't had to have one done myself, but logic tells me it's probably less than a new neck as well.

If your happy with the feel of the neck you risk losing that with a different neck.
