  • Jackson RR serial number

Hey, a friend of mine has a Jackson RR (not sure on number) that claims to be MIJ. It has a Jackson licensed FR bridge and came with Duncan Designed pickups. The serial number is 7 digits longs but starts with an 8. No idea where this came from, I searched a lot and found no real info.

    Any help?

    Thanks

Picture of the guitar and number would help. Usually Japanese starts with a 9 but Ron is the import expert around here.

Never heard of a MIJ 7 digit # starting with 8. Double check that.

I got a quick pic of the serial, he'll take pics of the actual guitar tonight. It's either an RX10 or RX10D Rhoads, here's the serial on the neckplate:

Yeah, me too. I'm wondering if this could be some kind of fake or mis-branded as Japanese? I am not sure which (if any) Jacksons' SNs start with an 8.

Or could it just be an RX10D with the wrong plate on it............for some strange reason?

Sure looks like a RX10D! But what year? That sticker on the back of the hs looks like a newer style. Maybe in the last year of operations at Chushin Gakki, they had 8 series ser# ?

Take the neck off and look to see if there's any identifying stamps. That might determine if it's a matched set of a mutt (newer neck, older body, some random plate).

Ok, I'll take a look under the neck to see what's there, it'll be next week as that's when I'll see it next. Thanks so far guys!

Hi! Sorry to revive a 6 year old thread, but did you ever figure out if it was a fake/missmatch of parts?
I've found a seller who sells a guitar with exactly these specs (Looks exactly like an RX10D, says it's MIJ on the headstock, with a serial number that starts with 88)!
