  • Gold pickups in an Ivory RR5? Anyone?

I just wondered if anyone ever tried this? Kisekae is shit for RR5s so I have no clue how it would look.

I have an Ivory RR5 with the black pinstriping, gold hardware. Currently I have a JB/Dimarzio PAF in it, with black plastic covers (EMG look). Its smart as fuck.

But I wonder if it might look even more smart with gold pickups, I wanted to see some pics.

I did the gold swap on my ZW LP and it looks awesome. It looks like that's the way it should have been built IMO. And it had EMGs in it before. I say do it. Now that you have me thinking about it, I might do it to mine as well.

I strongly considered doing this a couple years ago when I got my RR5, but then changed my mind and will one day execute my plan of no V plate, pickguard to match the cream/pinstripe and zebra pups.

I'm anxious to see how yours turns out!

I think it would look good with zebra pickups and gold pickup rings.

Thats an Epi right? I was thinking of trading the RR5 and was offered an Epi Zakk Wylde, but I turned it down. They are fuckin sweet guitars though, I love Zakk's lead playing.

Well now, hold on, it was just a thought hahaha! I have a JBJ in the bridge which I could get a gold cover for, but the neck is a DiMarzio PAF and I have a feeling it would be a total bastard to get a cover for it (or expensive at least). I've had this guitar up for sale for a while too, I'm not sure if I'll even hold onto it.
I'm planning on using it for our next gig on March 9th - if it passes that test, then I MAY look more seriously into some gold pups for it....

Yup, it's an Epi. Those are custom MHD pups, and they are badass. I wanted to have all the hardware match, and then got the gold knobs as well. I like the way it looks now.
