  • Rhoads RR5

I recently bought an ivory and gold RR5, and have been trying to do some research on it. The serial number is C62155.

I contacted Fender, and they said "Strange. The guitar looks legit but that SN doesn't match up with Chushin #s. This may be from a pilot or proto run. It also may be a small batch that later became a production model."

Does anyone have any ideas about this guitar?

Pics of the whole guitar and serial number might help.

Looks like a zero and not a C.

Even if it was a zero, shouldn't it have a letter before it? Would it make sense to start with a zero with those digits?

No, a zero with five numbers after it would be correct.

No seriously, it's a 2006 Made In Japan RR5 like I said in my PMed answer. Enjoy.

                      Thanks!

Where did you get that info? All I can find is product codes up to 2001.

The second digit in MIJ neck-thru imports, in this case a "6", denotes the year made. So it would be 200"6".
