  • Youtube Russian guitarist with cool Charvel import mutts. Identification / insight?

What is this? Looks like a Charvel Model Series neck with "Standard" on the truss rod cover (might be insignificant) and a factory Floyd locknut shelf (not a behind-the-nut locknut). I can't quite identify the body, which looks like a 375 body but isn't because the pickups are too evenly spaced (the 375 has the middle pickup shifted closer to the bridge pickup). The OFR looks aftermarket and the recess route might be a JT580/JT580LP route (angled corners) but the route doesn't extend all the way forward to the trem posts which is stumping me. The original video does not go into detail about the guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIYiHAQ0kIw

Same guitar as above, and left unexplained: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cYuqQtENqM

This next guitar looks to have the same neck and pickups on a different body. and is described as a "Handmade Charvel Style Guitar" in the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO6uXFGtiQs

I don't know the year ranges but there was a time in the Charvel imports that had a top mounted trem with a pull up route which this looks like. I think it started during the model series and they went to a full recess sometime during the toothpaste logo era. My 650XL which IIRC is a 1990 has this style of route. What is confusing is they didn't have OFRs so if that route was factory the bolts for the locks should hang over the edge. the neck like you say is confusing as well. I didn't think they went to a Floyd nut until the toothpaste logo. Maybe guitars sold in other countries were different. I suspect that bottom one is for sure a mutt. Definitely a mystery there. Is the guy still active on Youtube? Maybe he would respond to a comment on his video. Can you post a link to the videos?

I believe they started in 1989. It indeed does look like it's a non-recessed trem with the pull-up route extended further back

The links are included in the first post. 😀

I received a reply from him:

It is original Charvel DK-065 with some modes: oil-coated cover fretboard, Jescar Evo gold frets, vintage Dimarzio DP100 pickup in the bridge and original Floyd Rose. Was purchased on ebay
If I understand correctly, this is a Japanese market Charvel. Here are pics of a stock one, in the same blue finish as in the above videos. https://guitarplayer.ru/commerce-ins...sh-89-prodano/

I assume the "Standard" truss rod cover was aftermarket because all DK-065 photos I found had a blank truss rod cover.
