  • NGD: Pro Mod So-Cal Super Stock

I was looking for a Fender Stratocaster with a Floyd, but for some reason I ended up buying this:

It is my first Charvel and my first guitar with a non recessed Floyd Rose.
Color is not very traditional (initially I was looking for a sunburst...), perhaps it can be used as pedestrian safety reflector when nights get darker here in Finland.

It was a B-Stock item but I really don´t know why, It was cheaper than most used "normal" So-Cals were here in Finland. Neck is straight, no flaws in the finish and pickguard was still covered with plastic film. Fret ends are smooth too.
Only thing It needs is a Schaller trem arm, korean FRT ones are as wobbly as FR Special trem arms..

I removed the tremolo cover (which is anodized aluminium just like on US and original japanese Pro Jacksons, nice) and was surprised to find out that it has a 32mm sustain block. I thought that non recessed floyds should have at least 37mm. Would there be a significant sound improvement if I replace the block with a 37mm fat brass block?

Congrats! I'd choose that over a sunburst Fender strat any day.
