  • Whoo Hooo Score one for me!

Found a Model 4 at GC in Alabama( I live in Indiana). They had dropped the price from 550 to 299 because they couldn't figure out where the fine tuners go (JT6) LOL. I had a 50 coupon so it cost me 249.99 and it shipped today, it is a 88 model. This will be my first Charvel and it will join my ever growing collection of Jackson\Charvel imports in those golden years. Next.. A 650 XL or model 6.

Question, since it has they JT6 I think I can put an OFR on it?

Here is the GC Pic I bought it from. I will post some more when I get it

Yeah 550 was a joke but 249.99 is the deal of the day and the guy I talked too said it was very clean. Well they did charge me 15 to ship it. LOL

I have never heard anything but rave reviews for these things so I am pretty excited!

Nice score. Yeah you can mount a Floyd on it. Get a set of posts though from Frets on the Net (www.fretsonthenet.com) if you do put a Floyd on it. Dave's posts will allow full travel of the Floyd. You also may need to shave just a tad off the body in the routed area around the trem bar. No big deal though.

I really am a diver anyways. Would I still need the posts as you mention?

I've never had any problems using the stock JT-6 posts when retro-fitting an OFR on any of my Charvel's.

The stock posts will work but Dave's posts match up with the OFR posts. Here's a link, just scroll down to the posts & read more about them. http://www.fretsonthenet.com/ImCharv.htm He also makes rings for the pickups if you ever change out that stock bridge pickup. The stock pickups are a little oversized and if you stick something else in there you'll have a bigger gap between the pickup & the ring.

                  We all get that coupon.

What I don't get is why don't they just price the guitars right to sell in the first place?

Congrats! Don't change the pups, the J200/J50BC/JE1200 combo is fantastic.

The guy over the phone said no to the coupon at first. I argued a little and he took it. And yes we all get it. I am planning on playing it stock for awhile. Will change to OFR and probably add a D-Tuna before I do anything else. And I agree on the pricing but remember they are all on commission. I actually dove up to Peoria last year and just abused that poor salesguy. I moaned and groaned about driving all those miles and got my RR5 Ivory\Gold and my RR3 Black\chrome for 679.00 for both(they wanted 850 just for the RR5). So they are just trying to make as much as possible just like the rest of us. Right now my DR3(1995) is my main guitar, my 93 stealth ex is my e flat guitar, and my JDR94 is my D guitar. I also just bought another sweet JDR94 with OHSC for 190.00 shipped this morning. I bought that guys other JDR about 2 or 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it, so I bought his other one too! I also have a 92 Dinky standard that I have been using for bluesey stuff.I am hoping this Model 4 will wind up as my main e flat guitar.
