The stock is cut for a side lock, doesn't mean it's a flintlock, just that the internals are attached to the side panels instead of inside the frame, as a box lock would be.

It's great. I wanted to get the nut filed a little bit and brought it to a local guy that has done work for me before. He talked me into getting it PLEK'd It really does make a difference!

One of my best friends has his plastics shop next to a guy who hand builds vintage style scopes for black powder guns.

It's interesting how many small explosions happen at their shop on beer Fridays.

Amen to that Kevin. I have been building flintlocks for the past 4 months or so. Building these old classics has a lot of similar characteristics of building great guitars. I will combine the two soon.
