  • Did Grover Jackson design the Washburn Mercury series?

I read an article somewhere that Grover designed the Mercury series guitars for Washburn in the early 90's. Any truth in that?

Yep. He worked for Washburn at that time.

cool, I own a Mercury Washburn from 91 or something like that and found it uncannily similar to a Jackson I own. Never thought there might be a connection but then I read said article and I guess it makes sense now.

      Love that guitar

Nice. I've never played one, but I remember the ads for them in guitar mags back then, and Grover was pictured in a couple of them.

i have played a few and they are nice, especially the USA models. if i ever found one at the right price, i'd be all over it. i played the MG 112 and the MG 120. both were STELLAR and more than worth their prices. i just didn't have the money at the time
          GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

          and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I had one that I should not have sold. Awesome guitar, great tone, fat neck but very comfy. I week after I sold it my wife inherited some money and I tried to get it back but the guy just wanted to flip it and make some money.

I have about 10 of the US made ones. They are definitely great guitars for bolt ons...........

Speaking of Grover. Any news on that new guitar company he was planning to launch real soon? Probably at NAMM 2011?
