  • Hard case that fits older Jackson Kelly?

I just got two 90s Grover Jackson Kellys. Both shipped with cases and I don’t like either of them: the flight case doesn’t seem to fit perfectly and the gig bag isn’t safe enough. I ordered this case from Guitar Center and just discovered that neither of them fit! I’m not prepared to modify the case like some of the commenters on that page did.

Can anyone recommend a case that fits? Is anyone aware of what/when/whether something changed in the dimensions of the Jackson Kelly at some point or if there’s just a certain amount of variability over the years?

They fit the standard size Jackson molded case, but other than that I have nothing to put a tape on. I'm sorry someone will know
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

Jackson customer service recommended the case for their pointiest guitars: https://www.jacksonguitars.com/en-US...994874100.html. It doesn't seem to be available in stores so I ordered it from them just now. I'll post back when I receive it. I'm optimistic about this one.

Not a bad deal right now. I do wonder if a kelly will fit, you can return right?

Yup! They said they’ll send a prepaid shipping label if I must return. Their customer service was quite good. Replied promptly, very helpful. I’ll share the results!

Failure. The Jackson Annihilator case has the same problem. It’s like the whole neck is mounted at a different angle than the newer ones. Very very frustrating.

I think I’m going to try this Enki case next, https://enkiusa.com/collections/case...ic-guitar-case. It should fit both, take up less space at home, and it’ll make touring easier.
