Nice score Ian, I'll sort out a different nut for you if needs be. By the way, an R2 has the same string spacing as an R3, just not quite as wide.

It's possible the lock-nut was changed by a previous owner to a smaller size to avoid the E-strings falling off the fretboard edge,if so it's very simple to put a larger one back on Ian!!
Personally I like a slightly narrower nut for just that reason, hate it when the E-strings fall off the edge when doing pull offs, etc.!!
    Congrats again,great score,this thread is killing me!!LOL!!

Take it off and see if it's an R2, or an R3, it may be the wrong nut and someone wasn't paying attention and grabbed the wrong one.

Normal. Every now and then, one is just a little bit thin or a little wide. It happens.

I got a neck like that once before. Doesn't affect playability or anything. Just an appearance thing - and a very minor one at that.

Got myself a bit more sorted, so here's the whole guitar:

and here's the nut area. As I said, it's almost like it's the wrong size, rather than incorrectly positioned as it's flush on the treble side.....

6022 here in Des Moines, Iowa.

Here is a shot of 6022 about 2 months ago on stage opening for Nugent.

    I love this guitar...

6021 here, and they are awesome examples of the Charvel line. I absolutely love mine. The nut area is spot on on mine, post a pic when you can.

I agree, now that I've played this one for a while and I checked out a new pointy at Matts, I would not hesitate to order a new pointy CS from Charvel. They seem to be pretty consistent.

Awesome guitars. Probably the best special run of guitars to come out of the custom shop in a long time. And, in a sense, they are the "pre-pros" of the current USA Charvel line.

The only reason I (reluctantly) sold 6026 was because I decided to order other pieces with some similar specs. Not the same, but close enough that it didn't make sense to keep her.

If the new pointies weren't so good - that fact largely due to the Bullseyes, IMHO - with great options, I would've kept that guitar for life.
