  • Need help identifying 80's USA Charvel

Hey guys, new to this forum, and pretty new to Charvels in general. My girlfriend's uncle (passed a few years back) was in an 80's rock band and owned a Charvel that the family has kept around but doesn't really know anything about. I was able to check it out and play it a bit but didn't get any pictures at the time.

It looked very much like this, but with a blade switch instead of a toggle:

And it had the neck heel contour like this one:

It looks very much like the 3DR, but the headstock isn't reversed and it has a USA neckplate. So here's all the bits I remember:

    - 22 frets
    - Dot inlays
    - USA neckplate
    - Carved neck heel
    - Jackson tuners
    - Non-reversed headstock

It plays very nicely and was shockingly almost in tune after being in its case for the past 4 years. If you guys know any more info or have any guesses as to the value, that would be much appreciated

sounds like it may be a model 275 if it is 22 fret.

Pics would be super helpful if possible.

275 doesn't sound too far off. 'USA Neckplate' ...as Carbuff stated does it say Fort Worth? If so it's MIJ. Nothing wrong with that though!

Thats what I was thinking also. But that would have a ft. worth neckplate and a toothpaste logo. A pic or 2 would be great.

Edit: Ha, beat me by 2 minutes. LOL.

            Did it look like this?
If so, it's an import (made in Japan).

Thanks for all the helpful responses guys! Yeah it does say Fort Worth on the neckplate, and 275 certainly looks correct.
