    Fucking hell.

I've never been a massive fan of Ozzy or even Sabbath. I listen to them but never really became like a fanboy as I did with bands like Maiden, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Slayer, Behemoth etc.
So I've heard most of Ozzy's stuff and it's good but...

I'm watching some Ozzy gig from when Bark at the Moon just came out and FUCK ME what a fucking guitar player Jake E. Lee is! I actually own that album on vinyl but until now I never appreciated just how incredible this guy is. He makes Randy's solos look so easy and his tone even on a shitty old Youtube video is incredible. His version of the "I Don't Know" lead is fucking Godlike!

Carmine Appice had a really stupid moustache though.

Jake was a BADASS!!!! I may be in the minority, but I liked his stuff in Badlands better than the Ozzy stuff.

I'll always be a Randy guy, but Jake was different than all the other Cali "shredders" that were on the scene at the time. Loved his work with Ozzy and Badlands.

I don't think he ever considered himself a "shredder". He's a lot more bluesy and versatile. You can pay him to shred, though.

Well, thats what I was trying to get across. Rather than being a cookie cutter type of player, he was coming from blues and even jazz.

Yeah, never particularly cared for Bark at the Moon. it got a little too glammy for me. I always wished Brad could have been on that album.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was getting from that film. He was playing Randy stuff and basically shredding but it was in a fluid, bluesy style that really seemed to cut through the entire mix.

Bark is cool but Badlands is the sheeeeet. Rumblin' Train solos is to die for. Thick and chewy with tone and feel.
