My project guitar, I stripped all the hardware off and sold the items as well as a bunch of other horded hardware I wasn't using to help fund my new hardware.

The back of the project

Taped the fretboard

from here the guitar was taken to my local airbrush artist who finished taping the cavities and removed the clear coat and water sanded the guitar. I regretfully didn't take any images of that process, next are progress photos of artwork and paint that has been applied... far from done.

The word on the back of the neck is DESTROYER in DIME font. I got the idea of this guitar from the cover of an issue of Guitar World...

The reason I chose this is in the DIME and DEAN community the rebel flag and trendkill paint schemes are done to death...not that they aren't cool, they are, just that I didn't want something someone else had while I try to pay tribute to Dimebag while also incorporating a few of my other favorite guitarists.

Zakk obviously, but not so obvious is Chuck Schuldiner so I'm installing the DiMarzio X2N pickup in the bridge... next is Jason Becker , represented by the bright colors of the pickups... in the neck position is a DiMarzio Super Distortion, these were a custom order through a dealer.

Next is the new hardware...

So, there is more to come, this guitar is not finished yet...I still have yet to receive it from the artist who will later have full credit once I look over my guitar and approve of the work. I'll follow up with hardware installation and the finished guitar.
