  • Floyd Saddle Issue

I have a couple old guitars with those old black Floyds.

On each guitar the E string keeps breaking at the saddle when I stretch the strings hard.

Searched in this forum but could not find this topic - I know it is here somewhere.

Anyway what is the cure for this?

If there's a burr in the saddle that's causing extra friction, then a file and some fine grit sandpaper will help you smooth it out.

Or you could just replace the saddle.

find the german phone number for Schaller, call them and tell them that you need to get a new black saddle because its developed a bur and is breaking strings. - they might just send it to you for free. -they did for me. they actually sent me 2.

Hell I will try the sandpaper first - why spend the money - mise well try fixing first.
