  • Bridge pickup placement

I got a 2-H Strat pickguard for a project and when I compared it to other ones I have, I noticed that the bridge pickup hole is unusually close to the bridge. How will this affect the sound? I think it might be pretty cool. What do you guys think? Thanks

What kind of a guitar is it going on?
I did a mod for a customer and turned a SSS configuration into a HSS and I had to rout the pickguard and the hole underneath A LOT to accommodate. The pickup was hitting the wood underneath and was tilting toward the bridge.

I think you should be fine. You'll get some nice bite and twang out of it for sure.

It's on a Squier Std. I haven't put the pickups in the pickguard yet. It's gonna be tight wether it hits wood or not.
