  • SL1 blackout

The pickup will work but you will need to come up with a way to use the single coils and find a place in the control cavity to mount the 9V battery. Maybe EMG SA's would work best in the single coil positions since I don't think Duncan has single coil Blackouts yet. Otherwise it's a pain in the ass to mix the active and passive pickups. I'm pretty sure the SA's should work with the Blackouts as I believe they both require 25k pots.

Hopefully someone that knows rather than thinks can give some more input.

**EDIT SD does make single coils space Blackouts. http://www.seymourduncan.com/product...ackouts_singl/

Unforunately they don't have a 1H2S kit that I can find so you will have to buy the parts all individually.

The Blackouts are great pickups for heavy tones, they have crazy high output and are nice and balanced. For passives I dig the Duncan Custom. There's lots of pickup threads in here just do a little digging and you should find more feedback than you'd ever want.

Didn't it come with a JB? That's the Mustaine Rust In Piece pickup everyone masturbates over.

Try a Duncan Distortion or Custom Custom or Custom 5, DiMarzio Tone Zone, or simply raise the JB so it's closer to the strings.

The BO singles also have a cool jumper feature, where if you wire it to a toggle, you can go back and forth between high and medium output. I wired my Soloist that way...
