  • Jackson truss rod uses external wrench?

    Most every truss rod I ever messed with used an allen wrench, but allen wrenches don''t fit in this hole. Looks like it uses an external wrench right? Or is something wrong with mine? Please forgive the stupid question, I don't usually mess with truss rods. But I figured I might as well learn sometime. BTW this is the neck on a KVX10.

    You need a box wrench:

    Pretty sure it will take a 7mm, but someone more familiar w/ import Jacksons can confirm that for you. You can also find them with longer reach and tapered ends that fit the Jackson headstock a little better than the standard type shown in that link. Some also prefer a T-bar style wrench.
