  • Middle Pickup (disconnected)

I have a Strat that is missing a middle pickup, which is cool cuz I never use middle pickups. Bu I hate having that empty hole. Can I put a stock pickup in that space and leave it disconnected or will that cause grounding problems? Thanks in advance for the help.

why not order a pickguard from Warmoth with no middle single coil?

But to answer your question - yes you can.

Man the middle pickup sounds the best in a strat.JMO.
I never understood how the middle pick up gets in the way.
By taking the tone control off the middle and moving it to the bridge pickup opens up the middle pickup and lets it really sing.

Yeah I dig the middle pickup sound on my strat - its one of my go-to sounds when the bridge is biting too much and the neck is too... "bloooopy" sounding.

I very rarely use it on a super-strat guitar though.
