Intonation and taking apart a Jt580LP

I was wondering how you set the intonation on a JT580LP. Also, how would I take apart the whole bridge so I can clean it?

You intonate a 580LP the same way you would for any other Floyd style bridge.

There is no need to completely disassemble the bridge to clean it.
Soak it in some WD-40 and then wipe it down real good.
Some compressed air helps to blow any moisture out of the saddles.

I use a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol... To clean it, not set the intonation obviously. I wouldn't disassemble the tremolo to clean it, unless maybe was on the losing end of a mudball fight.

Also, don't back the fine tuners out all the way. They're peened on the bottom so the don't come out all the way, and if you force it you'll gouge the hell out of the threads.

I'll go with the soaking idea. Thanks! How are you meant to move the saddles on a JT580LP? (that's what I meant by my first post but I didn't ask it properly).

You loosen the allen screws that hold them onto the baseplate. The screws at the front, closer to the pickup.

Intonating a Floyd is a major PITA, plus it's very easy to strip the screws and/or baseplate. If it's close, I'd just leave it alone.

Okay then. Thanks. I was wondering how to intonate it since the guitar didn't come with an allen key that fit the saddle-baseplate screws.

Thats how I've always done it. WD40 smells good, too
