Replacement pickup recommendations

I have a RR3 and a DKMGT (Active EMG 81/85). I loved the sound of the 81/85 when I had valvestate 1/2 stack but now I have a gasp.... a Line 6 HD150 1/2 stack (I like the options for a home player). I like the sound of the SD's in the RR3 but the 81/85 just dont sound as good as before. Thinking of either taking the battery out or just changing the pickups.

Do you mean changing the battery to a new one? Because taking the battery out will give you no sound.
I'd just swap the pickups around and put the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck.
