  • Wiring Schematic

For all you wiring guru's, this is my first time drawing up a wiring schematic. It's for my RR project, and I wanted to post it up here to make sure it's okay. If someone could double check it to make sure it legit I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

I'm not super experienced with tone knobs, but I don't think the input and output wires should be attached to the same terminal.

Other than that, it looks good. You've got all of your grounds covered (pun intended).

The wiring looks good.. Just switch the pickup and jack wires on the tone pot to the opposite outside leg or the sweep will be reversed.
The tone switch just bleeds off to ground so having both hots on one lead won't effect anything.
I think you had a typo with Ground under the bridge pickup.

As ATD stated, your second diagram is correct.

Since I shielded the cavity,& I have solder a wire form the shielding to ground, where's the best place to do this? Any other wiring advice for working on this RR would be appreciated.

I'd go to the first volume pot, only because that is pretty much industry standard. It won't matter if you connect to any of the pots since you have grounded them together.

I am facing the fact that my 89 RR is going to need a rewire very soon (since it is about to be pushed back into live use again).

Would the second diag that sharkfin posted be correct for the original wiring setup on a US RR?

I have the old Jackson electronics manual for years ago but it doesn't show a stock setup for a non-JE**** equiped guitar. Is there anyone out there with a stock Jackson wiring manual they could forward me?
