  • EMG's don't fit?

I just tried to put in a set of EMG's (Zakk) into my Jackson SL2H,
and they don't fit, is this normal or just me?

I had the same problem, you have to either enlarge the hole or sand off the corners of the pickups so they are rounder like a duncun. Only the lower half of the pickup has to be rounder over and don't sand too deep.

damn, I was hoping that there was a trick to this.
I think I will sand the pickup instead of the body
        of the guitar.
        Thanks for the help.

hummm, the capacitor isn't long enough, can i use the stock Jackson one
or does it have to be the EMG cap?

+1, just extend the one that came with it.

Are SD Blackouts already rounded for this reason?

It is a real easy fix if you get a Dremel with a rotary cutter or sander. You just need to make the radius of the corner smaller, open it up a bit. I wouldnt sand the pickup. I have to do it quite a bit on guitars. The opening is routed with a 1/2 in bit. You need to get that radius down to a bit larger than 1/4 in. If you are CAREFUL, you can also do it with a rat tail file.

Meh, I did it with a flat-head screwdriver once. No problem.
