  • Can you make a "On/On" miniswitch do "On/Off"???

Hi, i'm rewiring up a guitar and I need to buy some mini switches and I'd really like to just have on/off switches. All I see are On/On or On/Off/On to buy.

So, i'm just wondering If i can just not solder a certain part to make the On/On became a On/Off, THANKS!

Yes - on/on just switches between two signals. So you would do one signal as the "hot" singal and the other signal would go to ground.

so a on/on switch has three poles.

        1
        2
        3

If you want to do on/off, you wire the lead from the pickup or output to 1, then the lead to the output or volume pot to 2. You would then leave three open. So when you flip the switch it connects either 1 to 2 or 3 to 2. When 3 is connected to 2, you have no signal.
