most dkmg only have two way switches ? is the switch after market?

Sounds like aftermarket to me. Your pickup selector switch should be 3-way (bridge/both/neck).

You should only have to use 4 prongs of the switch, as that type of switch has 2 sides. Depending on how the PC board is wired, 1 and 6 could be connected inernally, or it could be 1 and 8, with 4 and 5 both acting as Outputs.

Wire the bridge volume to prong 1, then jump it to prong 2. Wire the neck pickup to prong 3, then jump that to prong 2. Wire the 4th prong to the Tone knob.

However, it sounds like the way you've got it wired does work, but you will have to leave both volume knobs fully on, since they're being joined by the switch.

dont know if this will help...but here if how I have the switch in my WRMG wired. The red line is a piece of wire connecting the solder points. 2 and 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7 should all be connected.

That's what his diagram shows, but his volume knobs are acting as a Master Output (at least the bridge knob).

This is not the way a dual-volume setup should be wired, even though it's common practice (thanks to Gibson).

A dual-volume setup should be wired so each knob controls each pickup and does not affect each other.

I'd try posting at the Duncan forum.

you need to wire both volume knobs to the switch.

then use this to translate the switch. play around with it till it works right.
