  • Anyone else hear Jerry Cantrell is back with G&L?

I heard a rumour that Jerry Cantrell is having G&L make another signature series Rampage. Has anyone heard about this as well.

I am aware of the original runs done in the late 90's in fact I have a prototype with a three bolt neck and the regular custom run of 70 Rampage with the 4 bolt neck.

Haven't heard but I played a few of the older ones back in the 90's and was never really impressed.

Edit... but, I've played some Invaders and some regular G&L strats and was completely blown away - talk about "Leo getting it right." The production models I played felt like that other company's custom shop.

Those original Invaders were killer. The necks on them were just fucking fantastic.

Big FAIL on the USA model using the Chinese made Kahler instead of the USA made one. For $2k you deserve a decent bridge.

I hope they use a 3- bolt neck plate on the US Rampage but I think I am asking too much...

$600 seems like a great price for this. What is the deal with the $2000 one? Who would pay that much for one? What is the difference? Can't you get an original one for like $900?

I had an original before the limited model came out. I just HAD to have it. I loved having it, but had a helluva time playing it. Something with the angle of everything -- it hurt my wrist to play it.

I hope the neck profile moves away from the soft V. While the neck felt great, the profile wasn't my fave. I gotta look HARD at that import model... JC is probably one of my favorite guitarists of all time.
