  • need a pickup evo meets l500xl with more bass and mids

anyone know of a bridge humbucker that would sound like this? dimarzio evolution meets bill lawrence usa l500xl. but with more bass and mids. i like both of these pickups alot but i need it to be thicker. i love both of these they have incredible harmonics and scream like all hell and the clean tones are decent. the guitars they are in are evo-ibanez s470, l500xl-jackson dk2m. maybe a dimarzio x2n??? i read online that the bill n becky version of the l500xl is thicker and has more output compared to the bl usa one??? i havent tried the bl usa in the ibanez cause its too thick top to bottom to fit in the slot without removing some wood(i dont want to do that). so the bnb l500xl is probably too thick also?? i need a super huge sounding screaming shredding pickup \m/\m/ thanx for anyhelp

Any pickup in an S470 is going to sound thin. I had one once and I sold it because of that characteristic.

The X2N is all mids and is pretty impossible to get a clean tone from, being that it's almost twice the output of any other Dimarzio pickup.

I think I'd check out the Duncan Invader and Dimarzio Breed.

Try the D activator X. It's the x2n tuned towards the bass and mids side. The regular x2n is slightly tuned towards the treble side but is pretty even.

How about the Evo 2? I have one in my Model 2 and like it a lot. The 2 has less highs, more mids and same bass as the original evo.
