I was just wondering what kind of clear coat Jackson uses nowadays?

Smells like Polyester and it seems very thick without sinking around pickup rings and other hardware. I would have to say polyester. Also with some of the clearcoat cracks that have been posted, polyurethane usually wouldn't perform like that.

Polyurethane will develop cracks at stress points sometimes.
      Jackson has always used poly.
Fender used polyester in the 70's try getting that finish off!!
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Wouldn't they use polyurethane on white guitars? I understand polyester can have a yellowing effect and is not the best choice for some colors.
