  • Stupid impedance question again... my Crate 2/12 cabs are

6.3 ohms on a digital meter.. Im a little gun shy, having had two KT88's
go bad on my VHT about 6 mo ago, so im really wanting to be sure i have
this right. Left Channel is a VHT FB cab 4/12 cab. 16 ohms...its set on
the A' channel at the 16 ohm setting on the back of the 2/90/2.
So am i ok with the B' Channel of the VHT 2/90/2 stereo amp, plugging
in these Crate cabs in the 8 ohm jacks? Or should i be sure, and use
the 4 ohm output jacks, so the the AMP is for sure, set lower than the
actual 6.3 ohms of the Crate cabs? Is this being too anal? Or is it
fine either way? What i really need to do is get another high quality
4/12 cab in 16 ohms, that way i'll be sure it's "Balanced".. Your thoughts?

An 8 ohm cab will always read low. Around 6.3 is normal.
    Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

What do your ears tell you?
I would use an 8 ohm output with those readings off the cabs.

My Altec Lansing 300w White frames measure 4.3 ohms each.
