  • Maple Neck Cleaning

    Guys,
What is the best way to keep your maple finger board clean?
Wondering what you guys use to keep them looking so good.

Lots of good info in the first two posts here:

The only thing I'd add is something that works really well for me to maintain the board once any major gunk has been taken care of. A couple times a year or so I take a clean cloth with a little naptha and wipe the board. It works great to get the grey residue from string corrosion or whatever out of the grain. It works better than lemon oil for me. Someone else here recommends Scott's Liquid Gold for that as well. Note: this is for maple boards only! I don't use straight naptha on rosewood or ebony.
