  • List of Jackson/Charvel short scale necks

I'd like some help from you guys with listing all of the Jackson and Charvel models with a 24-3/4" scale...

I dont know for sure, but I heard of the Jackson Fusion and Charvel Fusion, and I just saw in another thread that a Charvette 170 and 270 are short scale.....

So if someone knows for sure can you possibly list the year/model of both Jackson,Charvel, and Charvette short scale guitars?

This will be very helpful for mutt building and neck swapping, or for guys with a body and need a neck to restore their guitars.
    Thanks alot guys

The Mark Morton model has the 24 & 3/4" scale, but it's neck-thru and won't do you much good if you're trying to do a neck swap... well, at least not easily. :ROTF:

"Jackson SS" - 22 fret, offset dots, regular nut, SLS headstock.

      Don't know the year though.

        What's a Jackson SS?

And no, Joe, Im not doing any neck swaps yet, but I plan on getting one of those Epiphone Les Paul 100's with the Alder body, bolt on neck and swapping it for a Jackson or Charvel pointy headstock.
I got that idea this summer after seeing your Jackson LP.

I just thought this would help alot of people, cause there's been alot of questions being asked about these guitars and necks lately.

My old Jackson JJP did indeed have the short scale with bolt-on (painted) neck. I forgot about that one. That was traded to Peedenmark7 and he eventually sold it to Phill-up who owns it now.

I remember you said it was a short scale whenI pm'd you about it a long time ago. I really liked that one alot, and since Epiphine makes a bolt-on lefthanded Les Paul...I'm in business!
Then I need to fill in the neck pickup, add a Floyd, and I'm good to go.

              But anyway back on track..
              Thanks for the help guys

*edit: SS= short scale....why didnt I make that connection? LOL

I think there was a kind of soloist called an SL2, maybe, that was short scale, maybe an archtop and had a headstock with 3-on-a-side tuners. I think Mark Morton played one for a while, or maybe still does. I don't think the series lasted long (or did I dream this whole idea?).

I think you're thinking of a Sweetone, maybe a Jazz'r? I forget which one he had, but he used that headstock for his sig model. The SL2 was a 2H Soloist with no inlays and JT-580 trem from around '95.

                    Sweetone models:

According to the specs, they were 25" scale:

You're right, I do remember him talking about a Sweetone, but I have to admit that I didn't even know what one looked like. After checking your kind link, I realize the model I'm thinking of (inventing?) had a 3 on the side headstock but one that came to a point. My DXMGT has the same kind of headstock. Unfortunately I can't currently post a pic.

                        dg,

I loked around a bit and can't find a soloist like I'm thinking of, so I think you may be right that I'm thinking of the Sweetone. Could have sworn there was such a creature, but I guess I'm confused.

Maybe you're thinking of the SLS:

Not sure what scale length they had.

The SLS are indeed short scale but will do you no good as they are neck thru.

Well, the person who titled this thread never specified bolt-on, so
