  • two very stupid questions!about wiring.

I have a dkmg that I just got today...has a push pull boost on it....the org pickups were swopped out but the new ones are not connected, they are duncan desgined and the look like les paul pickups they have covers...five wires b,g,w,r, and bare, what ones go together. it has a three way switch....:think:I know myself this my seem stupid but I cannot freaking get any noise...thanks in advance.
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

From memory, red and white need joined together and taped off, green and bare need joined and connected wherever the diagrams suggest.
You really need to look up the wiring diagrams on the Seymour Duncan site, there's a ton of them.
If you still have some "boost" wired into the circuit I have no clue how that will affect it all.
What they look like, in terms of covers, won't make any difference BTW.

And if you just bought this thing and can't get any sound out of it, I'd take it back to the shop!

Martin's got it right, and I'll just add that your green & bare go to ground. Here's the basic Duncan diagram for 2 hums, 1 vol, & 3-way:

Not sure how the boost works into it, but hopefully you will only have to wire the new pickups to the switch & ground.

edit- sorry, was typing while you posted. You've got it.
