  • neck swap

Hi guys im thinking of swapping necks on my dk2ms. i have 1 thats great and 1 thats fat so im gonna switch them. Do i just use a screwdriver and loosen the screws and then change the necks? Is it that easy? how tight are they, maybe i need a powertool? I have a few dk2ms so im experimenting with modding but i need to change necks so ive never done it before. dont want to ruin 2 guitars. Thanks

Don't use a power tool. they are not that tight. yes it's that easy, but you may have to adjust the trusrods and reset the intonations.

I doubt you'll have to adjust the rods or the intonation. I've never had to, and I've swapped all kinds of Jackson necks.

Definitely avoid the power tool! You'll either bust the holes or route them out, which is a bad thing.

Also, just to be safe, make sure the neck bolts are the same length for both necks, and make sure you put the long ones in the correct hole. Otherwise you'll puncture the fretboard.
