  • Dimarzio Pick Up Question

    I was able to locate a vintage Dimarzio pup but, can't identify the model. I was hoping one of you could help.

    Its a humbucker with a 2 wire steel sheilded cable, black coils, and solid or flat top poles. It does not have any screw or allen head poles. Has the brass back with Dimarzio made in the USA stamped into it, no model number. It measures 8.9K.

    IMO its got to be from the mid to late 70's and from my knowledge its not a SD... possible early Dimarzio PAF?

    Thanks Vince

    I'm not too sure to be honest. It sounds interesting for sure, and I'll be keeping an eye out for the replies.
    If you dont get an answer, try sending an email to DiMarzio with an attached picture, they might be able to help.

    Good luck

          Sounds like a hybrid on a Dimarzio bass. I dont recall any Dimarzio's without at least one coil with adjustable poles of some sort. would be interesting to find out if its legit.

            The double row of non adjustable poles are what has me wondering also. Even the PAF's had atleast one row of adj. poles didn't they?
            Might be a prototype of some sort?

                You can also choose to use Photobucket as your pics host;

                I've been using it for a few years now and they've updated the features many times. It's way better.
