  • stripped locking nut

not the string lock screw, but the screw that goes into wood to keep the nut in place. i'm thinking maybe i could use some wood filler, or perhaps buy a longer screw. i've also heard some method that involves inserting a toothpick into the screw hole. any recommendations?

Tooth pick is the key. Mainly as long as the screw has a slightly firm grip to hold the nut in place, that's all that's needed.
Rosewood is a soft wood and can't take alot of cranking.
But yeah, a toothpick w/ a small amount of elmer's glue will do the trick.
Predrill with a bit roughly the same diameter as your screw, to prevent the rosewood from splitting when re entering the screw.

Tooth picks are magic ! I've used them in old door hinge screws that've loosened up or stripped over the years and other similar things.
I'm not afraid to bleed, but I won't do it for you.

Tooth picks are made of wood and will stay put wood filler will just pull out.Yes don't crank down too hard when putting the screws back in, snug will hold just fine.
