    Hey all,
    Who knows EMG's?

    I just bought a set of EMG's but I don't know what kind they are. They are black singles like the S and SA but older. They don't have the quick connect. And the covers have worn down like they do, the covers almost look scalloped they are so worn. You can see the EMG logo but the paint is long gone.

    The only sticker on the back of all 3 pickups says HHG. No S or SA or anything.

    Anyone know of these kinds of EMG singles? Seen that HHG before?

    From what I understand, HHG is a date code, not a model number.
    Cannot confirm if it's true or not. I just remember this being brought up before and someone contacted EMG about it.

      Rick,
      Do you know of a time when EMG didn't mark the back of the pickup? I'm guessing by the wear on the pickup these are an old set.

      So maybe they are S's or SA's just without any marking and only a date code on the back.

      Wish some of the paint was still on the logo. But I'm guessing that the paint has been gone for a long time.

        Best I can tell was mid 80's.
        I didn't even know much about EMG's until very recently, just did a lot of Googleing.

          That would make sense with the wear on the pickups.

          Thanks for the help Rick!

            Most likely SA models. Could be S, but those are much more uncommon.

                  Do they have the EMG logo on the front?

                  Gold = SA

                  Silver = S

                  I learned the hard way. Bought one on this forum as an SA, then found out later it was an S. It works good, so no issues.

                    Don,
                    You can see where the EMG logo was but the paint is long gone.
