  • I need to fix/clean my over drive volume pot :s

I have a marshall combo the vs65r, i've had it for a number of years now anyway, the over drive channel volume pot is all crackly BAD when i use from the get go.

Is it an easy fix? like could i just buy a new volume pot n replace it, or would i need to see an actual specialist?

I've replaced a volume pot b4 on my guitar :P so i can do abit of soldering etc but yeah i wanna get it fixed so i can keep on playing

Probably doesn't need to be replaced, which is harder to do on an amp these days because they're attached to circuit boards.

Get a can of Contact/Control Cleaner & Lubricant from whatever you guys have over there that resembles a Radio Shack. www.radioshack.com

Or if you can find an old TV repair shop, see if they've got a can of TV Tuner Spray/Cleaner.

Squirt that into the open slot of the pot (amp powered off and unplugged) and twist it around a dozen times, then check it.
