  • Mini or normal pots in a strat?

What size pots are normal in Fender strats?
I bought normal sized ones to redo my strat copy, only to find mini-pots already there.

Does it make a difference? The pots I bought are CTS ones, so I'm sure they're good quality and would likely be a worthwhile addition to this guitar.
But I need to make bigger holes in the scratchplate. Am I as well just buying mini-pots?

I personally prefer the smaller pots though, as you can squeeze more in there.

real strats used the full size pots. (CTS) I personally would just leave the old wired up and just wire up a whole new pickguard. I often find with copies its rather a bitch to get everything back the way it was incase you ever do wish to sell it. (melting off old solder and usually melting wires and switches in the process) You shouldn't have to route anything on a mini pots loaded strat tho, usually the routes are large enough to take a set of full size pots.

For some reason, I'm not allowed to access that image?
I have a wiring diagram, but it isn't even colour coded!

The mini pots have smaller shafts so you just drill out the pickguard to accept the larger shaft CTS pots no big deal.I would use the CTS pots.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.
