  • Question Regarding painted pickup covers

    Hi all,
A quick, stupid question. All these outrageous Jacksons that have custom airbrushed bodies, are the pickups that are painted to match the body EMG's or are they just plain covered Jackson pickups?

Thanks and have a nice day!

They're all different kinds. Some EMGs, some Duncans, some Dimarzios.

You can use any pickup and fit a cover on it and paint over the cover.
Just like the JC90, They are passive and have a plastic cover; wich you can remove if you want to.
You 'll just have to find a cover the size of the pickup you want to use!

Yes, for passives they place a cover over them. But I'm pretty sure they paint directly over the EMG pickups if they're used.

You can also paint directly on a pickup including its pole pieces and have no adverse affect on tone. In fact, the appearance of a graphic ove rthe pickups keeps the image flowing and makes it more pleasing to the eye.
