  • Bad Je-1000 news

So you may know I recently bought a je-1000.I tried to solder it myself but failed so I had a Lutheir try and do it.I just got a message from him saying that the je-1000 is "unusable",he recommnded a pa-2(which i've heard is terrible).I haven't contacted the luthier about what the problem is but I feel screwed over here. When I bought it for 150usd I didn't see anything wrong with it except that the cover of the trimgain pot came off.It was supposedly new and it it looked new but I don't know what to do.Anybody want to trade a broken je-1000 for another je-1000 or je-1200?

Those Jackson circuit boards are extremely delicate, if you solder too long on any joint you can fry the whole terminal. When you tried to solder it yourself, do you mean the actual board needed connections made or that you wired pickups/switches into it? The PA-2 is cool, but not the same as the JE-1000.

I had to wire the pickup and output jack to it and the 9v battery connection.

You know the JE-1200 doesn't look that complicated when i look at mine, I'm sure someone could reverse engineer it and come up with a schematic.

Are you suggesting I make my own je-1200?
I don't know anything about electronics but thanks for the offer!

The PA2 is not bad, but I'd suggest the EMG-AB since you can more easily adjust the boost.

I've had both and think they sound good.
